Honoring the 40th anniversaries of women being accepted into the US Coast Guard Academy and the founding of the SECT Women’s Network and of Safe Futures with table discussions on women’s leadership - past, present and future.

Geralyn White Dreyfous, Oscar-winning Producer

Oscar-winning Producer of the documentary film "Born into Brothels - Kids With Cameras" and Executive Producer of many award-winning films, Dreyfous will speak on "Evidentiary Truths and Cultural Beliefs: Film as a Tool for Social Change."   Read her complete bio here.


Women Trailblazers Panel - 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz, USCG, the first woman superintendent of a U.S. military academy; Grace Jones, past president of Three Rivers Community College; Maryam Elahi, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Eastern CT; Chris Soto, Founder and Director of Higher Edge; and Attallah Sheppard, a passionate spoken word poet, teacher and community ‘artivist’ will focus on the topic of “Ethical Leadership for a Sustainable Future.”

All middle school, high school and college students are welcome to attend the afternoon program only free of charge.

Scholarship Opportunity

High School Junior and Senior girls who attend the Women’s Leadership Forum afternoon program will be eligible to apply for a scholarship sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Forum. The scholarship will be awarded in the spring of 2017. Learn more here.
