Why the Alumni Center Needs Your Brick
Nearly 1,200 Coast Guard Academy alumni plus friends of the Alumni Association are now represented with an engraved brick on the Alumni Center Plaza. About 100 more will join them when bricks for Class of 2008 and others are placed in May. If a brick engraved for you is not there, shouldn’t it be?
The “cost” is a $1,000 donation to the Alumni Center Endowment, which may be paid over three calendar years and is fully tax deductible. Now that the building is built and paid for, new donations go to the endowment, currently at about $500,000. If we can build it to $1 million or more, we should never have to use other Alumni Association resources to operate the Center or maintain the building.
