Joint Service Academy Career Networking Night

The next Joint Service Academy Career Networking Night will be held on April 15 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. While sponsored by the West Point Society of DC, this event is open to all U.S. Service Academy graduates. Following brief presentations by our station chiefs, each graduate will have the opportunity to interact with and ask questions as appropriate.

Government – A government career counselor will answer your questions relating to applying for and securing Federal employment.

Large Business– A senior Vice President in Human Resources will answer your questions related to applying and working for a large Defense contractor.

Small Business– A successful owner of a small business offering technology services to both commercial and government clients will answer your questions about working in that environment.

Self-employment– Want to start your own business? Stop here to learn about what it takes.

Non Profit– A representative from MOAA will talk to what it’s like working in the non profit environment and answer questions that you may have.

Financial Services– A representative from USAA will address financial service questions.

Outplacement Assistance– If you’re interested in learning what an executive career coach can do to enhance your job search, stop here.

Resume review– A senior member from MOAA’s Officer Placement Service will give your resume a “once over” with helpful tips and suggestions.

Dress for success– You never get a second chance to make a good first impression so a professional clothier will offer his insights and advice as it relates to building your business wardrobe.

Dress: Coat and tie for men and equivalent business attire for women. Duty uniform is also acceptable.

Who should attend: Any U.S. Service Academy graduate seeking employment.

Purpose: Career networking and information gathering.

Cost: The cost to attend is $20 (covers spouse).

Food and Beverages: Coffee, tea, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Location: Army Navy Country Club, Arlington
Take I-395 to Glebe Road North. At bottom of exit ramp, turn right onto Glebe Road. Go about ½ mile and turn right onto 18th Street. Bear right. In about 4 blocks, you will enter the gates of ANCC. The event will be held in the Fort Richardson Room.
