Morgan’s family, friends, classmates and shipmates remember her positive energy and dream of becoming a Coast Guard pilot. She was a beloved member of the Class of 2019, a leader of Echo Company and the Corps, and an outstanding Regimental Activities Officer. As a cadet she competed in Track and Field as a mid-distance runner and she was a Marine and Environmental Sciences major. She left an indelible mark on her classmates and the entire community, and she will be sorely missed by all.

As a student at Weddington High School in Matthews, N.C., Garrett was a member of the National Honor Society and captain of her track and cross-country teams. Her high school 4x800 relay team finished first in the winter track and field 2015 state championships.

Her parents plan to set up memorial fund in Morgan’s honor that will recognize and celebrate her achievements and carry on her legacy.
