CGA Athletic Hall of Fame

Changes Initiated in 2017

In the past members were eligible 20 years after graduation and now that has been changed to five years after graduation. Also, there are now five types of membership for the Hall of Fame: Regular Membership, Veteran Membership, Team Membership, Honorary Membership and Pioneer Membership. Selected members are recognized at the Athletic Hall of Fame and Alumni Association Awards Dinner on the Thursday night of Homecoming and during halftime of the Homecoming Football game.


 

Criteria for Selection:

  • Have distinguished themselves athletically in the Academy's intercollegiate athletic program
  • Have distinguished themselves after graduation with achievements in both civilian and/or military life
  • Have served as outstanding examples of character, courage, and leadership, which the Academy seeks to instill through its athletic programs

Alumni, faculty members, administrators or coaches may nominate eligible individuals who they feel meet the above criteria. Nominees who do not get voted in during their first cycle will stay in the active nomination pool for consideration the following year. If not selected by the committee in the second year of consideration, the nominee’s name must be resubmitted for future consideration.

The nomination form and supporting documentation must be received by May 15 of the selection year in order to provide adequate time for the committee.
